At Methodist Physicians Clinic - Council Bluffs, our Vascular and Vein physicians offer expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the circulatory system, outside of the heart. We are located on the campus of Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
We offer treatment of the arteries such as:
- Carotid arteries (main arteries that supply blood to the brain)
- Aorta (main artery of the chest and abdomen)
- Peripheral arteries (supply blood to the extremities)
As a vascular surgeon, John Park, MD, is also able to treat diseases affecting the veins including chronic venous insufficiency, phlebitis (vein inflammation), varicose veins and spider veins.
We offer self-referral vascular screenings.
These screenings are valuable for people with a high risk of having vascular disease including people who are over 60 years old or have the following health conditions:
- High blood pressure
- High blood cholesterol
- Family history of atherosclerosis and circulatory problems
Smokers are also at a greater risk for developing atherosclerosis or vascular disease.
